Media Relations Officer

Principal Accountabilities: 

  • Assists the Manager in preparing a strategy and approach for media coverage for the Company that would fit in with the overall objectives of the organization. 
     
  • Prepares the budget estimates for media related expenditure and presents these to the manager for approval and finalization.
     
  • Evaluates various options for media coverage in terms of type of media (print, television, radio, internet etc.), target audience, costs etc. and selects the most suitable and appropriate avenues for advertising and publicity.
     
  • Drafts the Company’s press releases.  Organizes press conferences and attends to media enquiries and prepares appropriate responses.  Plans and arranges interviews of Company personnel with the media whenever necessary to make the best use of any opportunity for positive press coverage.
     
  • Negotiates with selected media sources for the best deal in terms of desired extent, duration and quality of coverage.
  • Produces the Company’s monthly newsletter and ensures that the content is relevant and accurate.  Also supervises the Company website content and its enhancement.
     
  • Receives options on advertising campaign ideas from the media and advertising sources and selects the most suitable option under the overall guidance of the manager.
     
  • Monitors progress of the campaign to ensure it is completed and released as per deadline.  Upon release of the campaign in the press or visual media, assesses impact and quality of output by carrying out random surveys or by commissioning feedback surveys.
     
  • Establishes and maintains good working relations with media personnel.
     
  • Studies new trends in the market in terms of advertising and media approach, assesses media plans followed by competitors and offers suggestions and recommendations for own Company’s media approach

Knowledge Skills and Experience:

  • Graduation degree from recognized university.
  • Further qualification in mass communications or media management. 
  • Ability to scan the market for creative approaches towards media campaigns.  
  • Excellent written communication skills, in English and Arabic.
  • Good people skills.
  • 3-4 years experience in related area such as advertising, media and PR etc.

IT Internal Auditor

Job Description 

  • Conduct audits, reviews, or studies of broad and complex programs/functions in which electronic data processing is an integral part for the purpose of determining the adequacy of the network of internal controls to prevent fraud and significant errors. 
     

  • Performs all aspects of the evaluations including interviewing, gathering facts and other data, and reviewing a wide variety of records and reports and analyzing findings.
     

  • Prepares reports, which present the findings of the review in the most effective manner. 
     

  • Assists the financial and operational auditors in developing audit plans that involve utilizing the computer as an audit tool to accomplish more efficient and effective audits. 
     

  • Supervises the data retrieval function that involves the development of computer programs for the purpose of generating computer-produced reports to aid in financial, operational and IT audits. 
     

  • Conduct training programs to increase the financial and operational auditors' knowledge of electronic data processing and techniques for auditing automated systems.

Job Requirement

  • BS/BA degree in accounting plus formal training in computer science or BS/BA degree in computer science or a related subject plus training in accounting

  • Five years of experience in auditing and/or computer programming/systems analysis

  • At least two years experience in IT auditing
